In September 2023, an international conference on food safety and agricultural development was held in Samarkand, with the assistance of the World Food Programme Organization (WFP). This event drew the attention of participants from various countries, including representatives of governmental and nongovernmental organizations, and experts in the fields of agriculture and nutrition.

The event was widely covered locally and internationally thanks to the active involvement of the WFP. The outcome was not only an increased visibility and recognition for Uzbekistan's work in agriculture, but also the establishment of important partnerships and collaborations to enhance food safety and promote agricultural development in the region and globally.
