The main package of measures aimed at conserving migratory species of wild animals was adopted at the UN's global conference held in Samarkand. At the 14th Conference of Parties to the Convention for the Conservation of Migratory Animals, 14 species were discussed, including the European seals and manuls, which were proposed to be included in the convention. This is a significant step forward in strengthening international cooperation to protect biodiversity.

The conference was attended by representatives from 133 countries, who jointly adopted the resolutions of the Samarkand conference, additional decisions, and coordinated actions on more than 100 issues related to conservation of wild species, migration routes, and protection of natural areas and sustainable use of natural resources. The discussions included scientific research, management of migration, protection of habitats, and human interaction with the environment.
