The XII Session of the Islamic Conference of Tourism Ministers was held in Khiva.

The event featured speeches by the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Husein Ibrahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Economic Cooperation Organization, Khusrav Noziri, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov, as well as the Director-General of the Islamic Organization for Cooperation. The event also saw participation from the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), Salim AlMalik, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, along with other high-ranking officials, foreign delegations, and representatives of local and international media.

Ahead of the ministerial conference, nine meetings of the Tourism Coordination Committee were held in Khiva. These meetings were attended by representatives from OIC member states, including Turkey, Senegal, Somalia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Egypt, Iraq, Libya, Malaysia, Singapore, the Maldives, Oman, the UAE, and other countries.
